Í leiknum kynnumst við furðuverkinu Edwin Murray en sá hefur yfirgefið búningadeildina Murray’s Costume Manor í niðurníðslu. FNAF: Secret of the Mimic er 11. innleggið í þessari vinsælu leikjaröð og eru tíu ár liðin frá útgáfu fyrsta leiksins. Höfundar eru Steel Wool en þetta er ekki í fyrsta sinn sem fyrirtækið kemur að gerð FNAF leikja, áður hefur stúdíóið gefið út Help Wanted og Security Breach.
