Square Enix eru að senda frá sér nýtt innlegg í hinni vinsælu RPG seríu Octopath Traveler. Leikurinn er væntanlegur fyrir báðar kynslóðir PlayStation í desember.
Fyrsti leikurinn í seríunni kom út fyrir Nintendo Switch árið 2018 og framhaldið Octopath Traveler II kom á markað 2023. Atburðir í nýjasta innlegginu gerast nokkrum árum fyrir sögu fyrsta leiksins og segir frá hópi vina sem endurbyggir heimaþorpið Wishvale eftir að bærinn verður fyrir árás. Vinirnir kanna hina gríðarstóru ævintýraveröld Orsterra, safna aðföngum og lenda í óvæntum uppákomum og bardögum.
Grafíkin í leikjunum er blanda af retró útliti gamalla Super NES leikja og þrívíddartækni og kalla Square Enix þessa aðferð HD-2D.

Character Creation
Start from zero and create your own protagonist – for the first time ever in the OCTOPATH TRAVELER series. Customise everything from your appearance, voice, hairstyle, and hair colour to your favourite food and skills! The hero of the story is you!

- You are the protagonist of the story. Choose your appearance, voice, motions, and favorite dish with the new character creation feature!
- Restore your hometown through town building. Invite companions and allies to live in a town of your creation!
- Engage in exhilarating and strategic command battles. Choose from over 30 allies to form a party comprised of up to eight characters!
- Use Path Actions to invite people to your town, engage in battle, and obtain items. Where you go and what you do is entirely up to you.
- Equip action skills with the new skill system. These skills can be learned by allies and passed on to others.
Octopath Traveler 0 kemur út fyrir PS4 og PS5 þann 4. desember. Leikurinn verður einnig fáanlegur fyrir Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 og PC vélar.
