Þau sem komin eru á aldur muna eflaust eftir Skugga en sá mun vera fyrsta ofurhetjan sem klæddist búning og birtust seríur um hann á blaðsíðum Vikunnar um árabil. Kappinn hóf feril sinn árið 1936 á prenti en hefur síðan þá komið fram í teiknimyndum, sjónvarpsþáttum og eldri tölvuleikjum.
